Q2. Are there any prerequisites to sending e-invoices?

  • Activate LHDN MyInvois submissions on Mailbox

  • For invoices and credit notes, the contact must have their Business Registration Number (BRN) and Tax Identification Number (TIN) filled in

Q3. How do I add BRN and TIN to my contacts?

  1. Create a new contact or edit an existing contact

  2. Add the contact’s BRN in the Company Registration ID field

  3. Click Custom Fields

  4. Add the contact’s TIN

  5. Click Save

Q4. How do I create and send e-invoices?

There are three ways to do it:

Method 1: When you create the transaction

This is only valid for sales invoices or customer credit notes with a valid tax profile applied.

  1. Create the invoice as per normal

  2. Select a customer with a BRN and TIN

  3. Enable e-invoicing on the side bar

  4. Click Save

The e-invoice will be sent to LHDN.

Method 2: After you create the invoice (batch send)

This is valid for sales invoices, customer credit notes and journal entries with a valid tax profile applied.

  1. Go to Mailbox > E-invoices > Outbound > Eligible

  2. Select the transaction(s)

  3. Click Send E-invoices

The e-invoice(s) will be sent to LHDN.

Method 3: After you create the invoice (individual)

This is only valid for sales invoices or customer credit notes with a valid tax profile applied.

  1. Select the transaction under Sales > Invoices / Customer Credits

  2. Click the Mailbox icon

The e-invoice(s) will be sent to LHDN.

Q5. Which transactions are eligible to be sent as an e-invoice?

To appear in Mailbox > E-invoices > Outbound > Eligible, the transaction must fulfil all the following criteria:

  • Belongs to the organization;

  • Not deleted;

  • Status is active (i.e. not draft, void, pending approval);

  • Transaction date is on or after the date they're onboarded to e-invoicing on Jaz;

  • Is a sales invoice, customer credit note, manual journal entry, or cash journal entry;

  • Tax applicable; and

  • For sales invoices and customer credit notes only, has a contact with BRN and TIN

Q6. How do I check the status of my e-invoices?

You can check the status from Mailbox > E-invoices > Outbound > Sent. There are 3 different sections in this page:
