Send E-Invoices to IRAS via GST InvoiceNow

Q1. How do I submit e-invoices to IRAS?

To submit all relevant transactions in a specified time frame,

  1. Select Mailbox > Compliance > GST InvoiceNow > Submitted

  2. Go to the Batches tab

  3. Click New Submission

  4. Fill in the details

  5. Click Save & Submit, or Save as Draft and submit later

To submit specific transactions,

  1. Select Mailbox > Compliance > GST InvoiceNow > To Submit

  2. Select the transactions you would like to submit

  3. Click New Submission

  4. Fill in the details

  5. Click Save & Submit, or Save as Draft and submit later

Q2. Which transactions are extracted for IRAS submissions?

  • Sales: Customer invoices

  • Purchases: Supplier bills

  • Credit notes: Customer credit notes

  • Purchase credit notes: Supplier credit notes

  • Direct cash entries: As an aggregated invoice/purchase transaction

  • Manual journals: As an aggregated invoice/purchase transaction

A transaction will only be flagged for submission if it has one or more line items have a tax profile indicated. Transactions with no line items containing tax profiles will not be submitted.

To be submitted to IRAS, the transaction must have a contact, which has the following details filled in:

  • Contact name;

  • Contact email;

  • Billing name; and

  • Billing address (line 1, country and postal code)

Q3. What are the data fields extracted for each transaction?

For each transaction, the following information are transmitted to IRAS:

  • Customer/Supplier information: Name, Address, UEN, GST Regstration Number, Address, Email

  • Transaction level information: Invoice totals, tax totals

  • Line item information: Description, quantity, unit price (inclusive of discounts), tax rate, tax category code (Jaz does an internal mapping from its tax profile types to IRAS' required tax categories)

Q4. How do I know if my submissions are successful?

To review batch submissions,

  1. Select Mailbox > Compliance > GST InvoiceNow > Submitted

  2. Go to the Batches tab

  3. Go to the Action Needed, Submitted or In Progress tabs

  4. Check the Submission Status column

To review single transaction submissions,

  1. Select Mailbox > Compliance > GST InvoiceNow > Submitted

  2. Go to the Transactions tab

  3. Go to the Action Needed, Submitted or In Progress tabs

  4. Check the Submission Status column

Q5. Does this feature automatically file my GST F5 returns for me?

  • No. This feature only submits transaction data to IRAS. You are still required to formally submit and file your GST return.

Q6. How does IRAS get the accurate GST category information and scheme from my recorded transactions?

  • Before your transaction data is submitted to IRAS, a mapping of the tax codes on your transactions will be done against GST categories aligned with IRAS.

  • You may also choose to specify tax codes directly, following the requirements published by IRAS here.

Q7. My transaction is issued under a special scheme, what do I need to do?

  • You may need to key in specific details under the transaction notes. Refer to the table below for more details.

Discounted Sale Price Scheme

Include a remark stating that the transaction is under the "Discounted Sale Price Scheme".

Gross Margin Scheme

Include a remark stating that the transaction is under “Gross Margin Scheme”.

Self-billing (Buyer Created Tax Invoice)

Include a remark stating that the transaction is a “Buyer Created Tax Invoice” and “The tax shown is your output tax due to the Comptroller of GST”.

Customer Accounting for Prescribed Goods

Include a remark stating that the transaction is a “Sale made under customer accounting. Customer to account for GST of $x” or “Customer accounting: Customer to pay GST of $X to IRAS”.

Approved Marine Fuel Trader Scheme

Include a remark stating that the “Payment of GST is not required under AMFT scheme”.
