Q1. How do I create a new Cashflow Statement template?
Go to Settings → Templates → Reports → Financial, then click + New Template (Cashflow Statement).
Alternatively, go to Reports → Cashflow, click the template selector at the top right, and choose + New Template.
Q2. What Cashflow Statement templates are available?
Jaz provides two Cashflow Statement templates:
Standard (IAS 7): uses Net Profit as the basis for Operating Activities.
IFRS 18: aligns the presentation of operating cash flows with the new IFRS 18 categories by separating the reconciliation into:
Operating Profit: representing cash generated from core business operations.
Finance, Tax & Non-Operating Items: representing the effects of financing costs, income taxes, and items outside core operations.
This approach provides greater transparency by distinguishing cash flows arising from operating performance from those related to financing, taxes, and non-operating activities.
All other sections (Investing Activities, Financing Activities, and Non-cash Transactions) are the same across both templates.
Q3. What settings can I customize in my Cashflow Statement template?
The Cashflow Statement template has three tabs: General, PDF, and Actions.
General: edit template name, baseline period, header, sorting, and footer.
PDF: customize layout, header, and footer for the PDF version of the report.
Actions: configure settings for a selected row or column (see Q8).
Note: PDF preview and export are only supported for up to 8 columns.
Q4. What is the baseline period?
The baseline period controls how report dates are set relative to the date the report is run.
The available options are:
This Month
Financial Quarter
Financial Year
Last Month
Last Financial Quarter
Last Financial Year
Q5. What columns are supported in the Cashflow Statement template?
Comparative Periods: choose a date range, comparison type (day, month, quarter, or year), and display order.
Variance: shows the change between two columns as an amount or percentage. Requires at least two period columns. Multiple variance columns are allowed.
Year-to-Date: shows cumulative amounts from the start of the calendar or financial year to the current period. You can configure the period type and range:
Through Today: year-to-date from the start of the year through today's actual date. Shows performance as at the current date.
Through Period End: year-to-date from the start of the year through the end of the selected period. Used for formal reports and period comparisons.
